Spaz cat mit nip

I love cats and have 4 of my own (and 2 dogs as well). I find there are few things more peaceful and prone to promote instant relaxation than a purring kitty curled up on or next to me. That being said, there are few things funnier and prone to cause fits of roaring laughter than a cat jacked up on the nip - catnip, not moonshine (the cats are smart enough to leave the drinking to their human, i.e. me).

In the past I've provided my sweet kitties dried nip from various retailers as well as catnip I've grown from plants purchased from various retailers. However, there are times when I've neglected the nip plant and it's decided to dry up and die - my fault. So, I purchased some seeds and took a whack at growing my own and wouldn't you know, I did it!

Margaret Mitchell

Having just viewed an episode of American Masters: Margaret Mitchell, there is a new fire lit under my ass.
I have been a fan of the movie Gone With The Wind for more years than I can remember and have watched the movie at least once a year for the past 20+ years. I still have the VHS version I was given as a Christmas gift by my parents a zillion years ago (it is the source of my Gone With The Wind viewing - as both my VCRs are still in fine working order, thank you very much. However, I will stay put if it's being shown on TCM).
I have read the book and I schlepped through the 'sequel' Scarlett...
As a bodice-ripping, terse, romantic-novel, I'll give Scarlett it's due, but as a true sequel to the masterpiece Mitchell wrote, it falls light years from the mark (the made-for-tv version of Scarlett is a j-o-k-e, unless you're into mindless, romantic schmaltz. Did the producers of this movie throw a bunch of actors' names into a hat then hope for the best when they were casting? They might as well have plastered a mustache onto a robot who's programmed to have a shit-eating grin on his face than cast Dalton!).
That being said I am now even more drawn to the story of Gone With The Wind and it's author after having viewed the fast paced documentary just aired on PBS. I could not take my eyes off the T.V. and when the dogs wanted to go outside, I have never moved faster to get them out and get my ass back in front of the T.V.
At this point I am compelled to read as much information as I can comprehend and contain about Margaret Mitchell - my God, the woman was fascinating! I'll refrain from making connections between her life and the story of Gone With The Wind at this point, but after viewing this documentary, I'm convinced they're quite obvious. Out of respect for the author I'll reserve my conclusions until after I've taken the time to read and research as much about the story and it's author as I possibly can.
Right now I can say that I'm inspired and motivated to read more and create more and maybe write more - as I've just been shown, the possibilities are boundless.
